Happy Birthday, Rhya!

Filed under: Birthdays, Pictures, Rhya — mattandrhya @ 9:07 am

Rhya had a great time on her birthday, and she got to spend it with a lot of family. We went to the Miller house, and hung out with all of my immediate family for the afternoon. Then, we went out to dinner that night with Rhya’s immediate family (minus Rachel, who had to work) and Mark, a family friend to who came down with John to go to the Par-a-dice.

Here are the pictures from her birthday. As you can see, Lindy is sporting some giraffe action, and a hat that is half china, half p. diddy.

I saw my second hockey game on Wednesday night, but this one was the Red Wings vs. Blues. We had some great seats, and we got to see the Red Wings come back from a 0-2 deficit after the first period to win.

SADW KATG Tournament Summary

I haven’t played poker in almost half a year, but I started last week playing here and there, and pulled out a small tournament win in a Keith and the Girl tourney. It ended up coming down to Keith Malley and I, so I got to chat with him a little bit, and Lindy ended up getting a shout-out on their show! (It is at the very beginning of #210, but only listen if you aren’t easily offended-I warned you).

I’m travelling in Detroit right now, and I was able to make it over to Ann Arbor last night for a Michigan hockey game. I’m happy to say the Wolverines stomped the WMU Broncos 7-3. Some highlights.

  • Michigan Hockey Chants (Vulgarity in link)- in particular, I liked listening to 5,000 people yell “It’s all your fault” at the opposing goalie after a Wolverine goal
  • Michigan scoring 3 goals in 2 minutes to take a 3-2 lead
  • Ann Arbor – if it wasn’t so far from home, I’d like to move there
  • Michigan has a player named Jack Johnson (sadly, he didn’t sing “Horizon has been defeated” when in the penalty box
